Industrial advertising is about products, not about your agency winning design awards... NEVER, NEVER, NEVER SET AD TEXT IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS. IT IS EXTREMELY HARD TO READ (SEE WHAT I MEAN?), AND MAKES YOUR AD LOOK AMATEURISH. BESIDES, IT'S RUDE TO SHOUT... Be very careful with exclamation points in advertising copy. Reading your copy aloud can help you see why; copy with a lot of exclamation points tends to give the impression of a salesman pacing around a customer's office, waving his hands in the air as he babbles, and sweating profusely... |
